Most advisors chase returns. We find the money you’re quietly losing.

Overpaying taxes. Unoptimized student loans. Full sticker price for college. Most people lose more money in ways they can’t see than they’ll ever gain by beating the market. We find those leaks — and put the money back to work, without touching your current lifestyle.

No pitch. Fifteen minutes on Zoom to see if there’s money worth going after.

$400,000+saved in student loans for a single physician client
$80,000+cut from one family’s total cost of college
6 areaswhere we find money you’re losing unknowingly and unnecessarily

Who we help

Built for two kinds of people with the same expensive problem

High income, high complexity, no time. The leaks are different — the fix is the same process.

Physicians & high-income professionals

You make plenty. You’re still leaking money.

Six-figure student debt, a tax bill nobody has seriously challenged, and no time to deal with either. The average medical school graduate owes $250,995 — and most are on the wrong repayment plan. We’ve saved physicians over $400,000 on student loans alone, then used sophisticated tax planning to keep more of every year’s income.

Parents of college-bound students

College is the 2nd-largest purchase you’ll ever make.

Most families pay sticker price because nobody showed them how the game works. We find colleges that compete for your student, cut the real cost — over $80,000 for one family — and if loans are needed, structure them so they cost the least and forgive the most.

What we do

Six places your money is leaking right now

Not market losses. Structural losses — money that leaves quietly every year and never comes back. We audit all six, then put what we recover back to work.

01

Taxes

High earners routinely overpay because no one has shown them the alternatives. This is usually the biggest leak.

02

Your mortgage

How you pay for your house — structure, rate, and timing — can cost or save six figures over its life.

03

College costs

Paying sticker price is optional. Positioning, aid strategy, and school selection change the number dramatically.

04

Student loans

The wrong repayment plan silently costs tens to hundreds of thousands. The right one maximizes forgiveness.

05

Retirement funding

How you fund your accounts — which ones, in what order, with what tax treatment — matters as much as what’s in them.

06

Major purchases

Cars, weddings, vacations. How you pay for big-ticket items either protects your wealth or quietly drains it.

Our signature process

An official doesn’t play the game. An official knows the rulebook — and calls it fairly.

The Official’s Way is how we work with every client: impartial, rules-based, and on your side of the whistle. No products pushed. No commissions chased. Just the rulebook of taxes, loans, and aid — applied to your money.

The Review

A short call, then one working session. We map where your money actually goes and run your numbers through all six leak areas. Most clients see the first recoverable dollars in this meeting.

The Call

Within two days you get the ruling: what you’re losing, where, and what it’s worth to fix. A written game plan with the plays ranked by dollar impact — yours to keep either way.

The Season

If we work together, we run the plan and keep officiating: investments managed to minimize drawdowns, taxes and loans re-checked every year, and adjustments as the rules — and your life — change.

The first thing we referee: four questions most people can’t answer

  • What rate of return do you need to live the way you live today — adjusted for inflation — and have your money last to life expectancy?
  • How much do you need to save each year to make sure you’ll have enough?
  • How long do you have to work before you can stop — and not run out?
  • If you change nothing, how much will you have to cut your lifestyle to keep from running out of money?

Fifteen minutes on Zoom gets you the answers. Already retired? The same questions apply to what you’ve accumulated — book the retirement version here.

About POV Wealth

One advisor. Every hat. Your side of the table.

POV Wealth is an independent Registered Investment Advisor founded by Eric McGinley. Independent means no product quotas, no house funds, no one upstream taking a cut — advice is the product. Eric has spent 15+ years in finance and built the firm around a simple observation: for most successful families, the biggest gains don’t come from beating the market. They come from stopping the losses nobody’s watching.

Questions

The things people actually ask

Why do you charge for the first student loan meeting?

Because it’s worth paying for. In 30 minutes you’ll almost always leave with enough to implement a strategy yourself. If you hire us for the full analysis, the $100 comes off the fee.

Can you actually save me money on my student loans?

Usually, not always — and we’ll tell you which one you are quickly. If your debt exceeds your income, we can almost always structure forgiveness and lower your payments. If your income exceeds your debt, forgiveness generally only works if you’re employed by government or a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Is paying for college planning advice really worth it?

You already pay a professional to keep the IRS from taking more than it should. College is the second-largest purchase most families ever make, at record-high prices. One family we worked with cut over $80,000 from their total cost. The fee is $1,700–$3,400.

What makes POV Wealth different from other advisors?

Most advisors sell returns. Returns are important — but they’re the part of your finances you control least. We focus first on the part you control most: money leaving unnecessarily through taxes, loan structure, college costs, and how you fund big purchases. Recovered losses are guaranteed gains.

What does “The Official’s Way” mean?

It’s our signature process, named for what a good official does: knows the rulebook cold, watches everything, and makes impartial calls. We apply the rulebook — tax code, loan rules, aid formulas — to your money, and we don’t have a side bet on the outcome.

Do I have to live near Falls Church, VA?

No. Almost everything happens over Zoom, and Eric is authorized to conduct securities and advisory business throughout the United States except Texas and Louisiana.
